YOUTH EXPOSURE TOUR (Y.E.T)

With our mission always in mind, we created the Youth Exposure Tour (Y.E.T) to ensure selected youth, from middle to high school, visit Washington, D.C. to take an in-depth look at our nation’s capitol, better understand our country’s historic and current affairs, meet state representatives, see our national government in action, view historical artifacts as well as witness some absolutely remarkable experiences and sites. Students then spend several hours discussing and journaling their experiences.

Y.E.T, which is held in June, has grown so that The Pyramid Project now sponsors 25 to 50 youth each year. Y.E.T, which encompasses a 7-day venture, fuses the amazement of education with the excitement of entertainment. In partnership with government agencies, our selected students spend 2 of the day(s) meeting with, asking questions of and answering questions from their respective Senators and State Representatives, FBI agents, and more. While, their remaining days encompass developing new friendships while visiting key sites such as:

White House
Senate and House of Representatives
FBI Headquarters
CIA Headquarters
Howard University
Georgetown University
George Washington University
Department of Justice
Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture
Lincoln Memorial
Washington Monument
